In the eighteen hundreds the United States experienced a slow migration toward the west as did our Jones family. Caleb Jones was born in 1827 in Alabama. Prior to 1855, he met and married Lavina Deeds, widow with at least two sons: James Riley Deeds and Jim Deeds. When Caleb was 28 years old, he and Lavina had the only child they would have together: Jehu, born in Arkansas, January 12, 1855. Jehu married Julia Elizabeth "Betty" Hutton February 27, 1876. All of our families can trace their lineage through these people. The accomplishments and determination of these people are celebrated by their decendants. They are our example. They are our heroes. This site is dedicated to them & their children.
